Frequently asked questions

How should settings screens be organized?

Group settings into 5–7 top-level categories (Account, Notifications, Privacy, Billing, Appearance, Help, About). Keep the most-changed settings at the top. Never bury 'Delete account' — transparency builds trust.

Should settings use a list or grouped form?

Use a grouped list with section headers. iOS conventions (Apple's Settings app) are widely understood. On web, use a left-rail navigation with a content pane on the right for desktop sizes.
