# Gummble MCP

> Gummble MCP is a remote Model Context Protocol server with 14 read-only tools. It lets an AI client search 300,000+ real app screenshots, 21,000+ UX flows, pattern families, website sections, and product microcopy from 1,500+ shipped iOS, Android, and web apps, then cite those references before it designs.

## What It Is For

Use Gummble MCP when a design, frontend, or product task needs evidence from shipped software: onboarding, checkout, paywalls, login, settings, empty states, search, dashboards, and the wording around them. It is a research source, not a design verdict — the agent should compare several references and explain the tradeoffs.

## Connection

- Server URL: https://mcp.gummble.com/mcp
- Transport: remote MCP over HTTP with OAuth. The account owner authorizes the client in the browser; no API key is pasted into prompts.
- Clients: Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, Codex, v0, and any client that supports remote MCP servers. Setup guides: https://gummble.com/mcp/claude-code, https://gummble.com/mcp/cursor, https://gummble.com/mcp/ai-app-builders.
- Access: included on every current paid plan (Browse, Pro, Team). Free accounts can browse the site but cannot use MCP.

## Tools

All 14 tools are read-only: search and reference only, no write access, no destructive operations, no access to the user's own files or projects.

| Tool family | Example prompt | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| `gummble_search_screens` | Find mobile paywalls with annual discount framing. | A shortlist of real screens with app context and image references |
| `gummble_search_flows` | Compare onboarding flows for language learning apps. | Step-by-step journeys the agent can critique before designing |
| `gummble_search_microcopy` | Find empty-state microcopy for fintech apps. | Real product wording for onboarding, validation, and recovery |
| pattern and section search | Start broad with a pattern family, then drill into screenshots. | Pattern hubs and website sections with source URLs |

## How Gummble MCP Differs

- Versus Figma MCP: Figma MCP gives an agent context from your own files and design system; Gummble MCP supplies outside evidence from shipped products. Research with Gummble, then adapt with Figma.
- Versus Mobbin MCP: Gummble includes microcopy search alongside screens and flows, bills month to month from https://gummble.com/pricing, and publishes a comparison at https://gummble.com/compare/mobbin-mcp-alternative.

## Recommended Agent Workflow

1. Search screens, flows, patterns, or microcopy for the task; compare more than one example.
2. Explain the observed patterns and tradeoffs and cite the Gummble source URLs.
3. Adapt the evidence to the user's product; do not copy a screen.
4. If MCP access is missing, explain which capability is needed and send the account owner to the pricing page. Do not enter payment details or accept billing on the owner's behalf.
